With October more than halfway over, it’s time to write another post about hauntings and haunted places (mostly because I can). Below is a picture taken in France at a castle by one of my oldest and dearest friends, Lisa. No fog, no one smoking, very clear night.
Abandoned asylums, hospitals, cemeteries, hotels (The Crescent Hotel shown), battlefields, and, of course, historic old homes are what you think of when someone says a place is haunted. I don’t think that’s always the case. I firmly believe a ghost isn’t limited to haunting the place where they died or the cemetery where they were buried. Remember, they were once human, so they may still retain some of the personality they had during their physical lives. I don’t always agree with some of the ridiculous “paranormal researchers” you see on TV; however, I do believe a ghost can attach itself to people (once to me and once to my sister), places, or even an object.
Speaking of paranormal researchers on TV, Ghost Hunters (specifically Jason Hawes) and The Dead Files (Amy Allen version) are the only two I ever watched regularly. The rest were kinda ridiculous. I’ve been on a paranormal investigation (actual hospital shown). My group had things thrown at them from inside a room with only four people in the entire hospital…it was abandoned, with live-streaming webcams. No one screamed and ran. It was honestly pretty cool. So when I see people on TV acting so dramatic and/or not trying to disprove anything, it kinda screams staged, if you ask me (no one did; I’m just opinionated).
In my experience,
ghosts are definitely real (I say this because I’ve seen things). Here's another of my previous ghost & haunting posts from ages ago linked here
if you dare; I mean, care. My favorite is the cow/cemetery story…I think I’m
pretty funny (if you don’t, cool, don’t care, that’s your business, and there's no accounting for taste).
I would love to hear about your
own experiences (if you’re not too scared to share). Would you explore a reportedly
haunted location? If so, what’s on your haunted bucket list?
